Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy isn't just for moments of deep crisis; it is a space for anyone feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed. If you are struggling with repetitive patterns, navigating a difficult life change, or simply want to understand yourself or your relationships better, therapy can provide the clarity and support you need.
What happens during our first session?
The initial session is gently paced and focuses entirely on collaboration. There is no pressure to share everything right away. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from our time together, and explore how we might work safely and comfortably as a team. It is also a chance for you to see if I feel like a good fit for you.
How long does a session last, and how often will we meet?
This varies depending on you, standard sessions for both individuals last for 50 minutes (often referred to as the therapeutic hour). To build momentum and create a consistent rhythm for growth, sessions are typically held on a weekly or biweekly basis, especially at the beginning of our work together. However this is your journey so what ever you feel comfortable doing.
Is everything we talk about confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is a fundamental cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. Everything shared within our sessions is kept strictly confidential in line with UK GDPR guidelines. The only rare exceptions to this rule involve legal requirements or safeguarding concerns (if there is an imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else), which would always be discussed with you first whenever possible.
What is your cancellation policy?
I operate a 24-hour cancellation policy. Because your session time is dedicated exclusively to you, missed sessions or appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full standard rate.
